If I am running my operation from home. What type of places will be best suitable to park my stretch (1-2 to start with).
I was thinking secured and covered for sure. But where can I find such places. |

Hi, like Salicete said, check local law's. If you live in a small town, you may want to goto police station and ask nicely for permission to park at residence, be sure to ask your neighbor's if they mind. If that's not possible, and your on a limited budget, find a 24 hour resturant with a big parking lot (24 hour's because someone is alway's there, almost like free security) ask owner to rent out spaces you need. Let owner know that limo's will be parked in back in spaces rarely used. Negotiate a price (I once rented spaces from a restuarant, three stretch's, for $100/month.) Just make sure if your parking outside to keep limo's in a well lit, secure area, and take all valuable's with you each night (gps, laptop, pda, etc...).

Limo storage is a pain in the DC-Metro area, and can be very expensive. I was fortunate enough to be able to strike a barter deal with a law frim I drive for, for inside parking.
Also, I am fortunate that in my county, one may park CMVs on private/residential property as long as they have no more than 4 wheels an are under 10,001 pounds. You will need to check your local regulations. If you have about $4500 a month, I have a lead on a fantastic warehouse in Rockville that would hold 8 to 10 stretches, or a ton of sedans and SUVs, and has office space. PM if you would like the info. I was going to go in with another shop, but they backed out after a poor prom season. |

Secured and covered might be a stretch, I think most just settle for secured. However it maybe diffrent in your area.
Look for RV storage places and I have even seen indoor boat storage places. Key is they must be accessable 24/7 and have a place for your employees to park when they take the vehicle. You can also look on craigslist for people advertising parking spaces in buildings or at businesses. Also can look to other limo companies. They may have a large storage warehouse with some extra room to rent out. OR you can get creative and find some space of your own either your own lot or behind a wahrehouse/business, strike a deal and put up some portable awnings to cover your limos. Starting out you have to get pretty creative if you cant afford your own warehouse space. Necessity is the mother of invention!! |
