I'd like to upgrade existing air vents installed by the coach builder with something that's gonna last a bit longer. At the moment people push them in -- what are my options? where can I buy them?

Is there an on-line store for coach builders where I can purchase that stuff?

I had the same problem with my cheap, plastic louvers - pushed in/pulled out of the holes in the limo upright panels. Looked forever and finally found Mark at Danhard Inc.
"Mark Nation at Danhard Inc." <mnation@danhard.com> 214-328-8541 in Dallas.

The louvers you need might be differnt than mine but they have an extensive catalog and quite a few options. You'll need to be very good on your measurements and a little patient but it worked out for me.

I'm off to order more also.

Anyone know of a different style that can't be "pushed in", and that will easily replace the existing ball vents?

I don't know of any upgrade or different style but you can buy exact replacements from www.MTGParts.com .
