Last year I bought a used Black 2004 Excursion Stretch 140 built by Royale Limousine. The vehicle looks and run great. The only problem I have had with it is the rear A/C. The front A/C works great and have had everything recharged and checked for leaks. Everything checks 100%. The problem is that the limo portion of the vehicle never gets COLD. It will get somewhat cool when you are running down the road at 40-60mph but if you hit any traffic you have 14 people complaining that they are hot.

Being winter right now it is not an issue but I want to get this addresses before it gets warm again. Any suggestions on an upgraded A/C unit or something? Any help is appreciated.

Hey Steve, this is Gary at Dream limo.
Give me a call, I use a guy in Westfield that was able to get my a/c cold in one of my hummers.

Rear AC actuator maybe. Do you have a condenser under the car with fans? Maybe in the front?

Most common causes of this:

1) Not enough freon charge in the system.
2) Poorly designed system (inadequate condensors or blowers, most likely condensors). Most limos operate fine off of one compressor but have inadequate condensors.
3) Poorly insulated rear cabin (poor design).
4) Possibility of a faulty vacuum switch (or a manual lever) not allowing cold air to flow to the rear.

Call Royale with the vehicle ID number and ask them for the complete specs of the AC components that went into your vehicle, then take it by a trusted AC shop for an opinion of those components stacked up against the cubic footage you need to cool.

Steve-
Does your limousine have one or two compressors? We have repaired many of our a/c systems and I might be able to help.
