I'm doing a research project on limos. I wanted to know if you would allow a limo to be rented without a chauffeur to a limo-qualified driver.

By limo qualified I assume you mean fully permitted. If Wade asked for a car I would merely add his driver to our insurance and loan him the car. Obviously I would not do this for a stranger.

I have never heard of Limousines for rent. Insurance Companies require information and drug testing etc on who drives these cars. I would question how could you rent a Limousine. I am not talking about sedans. I would say it could not be done. I could be wrong......

Yeah right! It would be like going to Subway and telling the employees to move over, I'm coming behind the counter and making my own sandwitch!

Call your city metro bus company and ask the same question. All you'll hear is "Are you dunb, or just stupid!"

Rant

If such a thing was possible... I think they would call it a lease to a licensed company ONLY. But, NEVER to just anyone of the general public.

I know a few owners who could do it as a "rent-a-wreck!!" wtf

Administrator: Quick Limousine Rental provides Limousines to the Corporate customer as well as the Limousine industry who either have a vehicle down due to an accident or mechanical problems or if they are over booked during a peak period such as New Years,Prom season,Wedding season.
Sometimes they just dont want the problems that come with farming a job out to another company .Its nice to know that you can rent a limousine and put your own chauffeur behind the wheel. As far as "Joy Rides"
the ansewer is NO .

Limos are available for rental in my area, but only to qualified drivers and companies needing an extra limo for whatever reason. DL numbers must be posted with the Limo owner's insurance company, which is basically the same for all of us here. Limos are not available for joy riders. The original question asked about rentals "for a qualified limo driver" This would indicate not for a joy ride.

Kevin,

Are your limo rentals for consumers looking for a joy ride, or for limousine services who are short vehicle staffed due to mechanical problems? Or both?

We would consider renting our limousines if you had a clean driving record and our insurance company approved you as a driver.

Dick,

I am speaking of terms in "Limousines" -- getting one without a driver would never happen, at least here in the states.

Sure, I know you can "rent" other vehicles, but I was strictly speaking about typical stretch limousines.

I know right here in Phoenix Arizona you can also rent Rolls Royce's, Corvettes, Hummers, and a whole bunch of other types of vehicles WITHOUT drivers, but I have never seen limo rentals without the driver. (The typical 6 and 8 pass type.)

Oh Dear
I'm going to upset our beloved Administrator again, sorry.
As a Professional Chauffeur of 28 years, Rolls Royce trained, Member of the IAM etc I have in Calgary Canada, New Orleans Louiseana, Paris France and London England, had a limousine delivered to the airport, used it for the tour, paid the fee, and then flown home. I have to say on two instances the vehicle was returned in better shape than when delivered, the others the vehicle was both delivered and returned spotless. The most recent , last week in London for 2 weeks and three days.
Thats why I have been so quiet Administrator had to work.
Sincerely Dick

It would never happen due to insurance reasons.
