My site was #2 for dc limo service on May 11th. I just setup a basic SEO formula and it worked! But I didnt know I was ranking #2 for that search until after I changed my tags around. So now I am not even on the map for it. BUT...it took about a month to get to #2 (Without really trying) so I am hoping I do as well for the queries I am targeting. I should know more come July 1st. My bday is the 12th so that would be a pretty shweet bday gift if I get in the top 5 for my targeted queries. I just readjusted everything over the weekend and i am thinking itll take a month for google to pick back up on everything

Steve,
Its not a Yahoo site. Its a site I created myself using Joomla. I just was wonodering if Yahoo offered webmastertools like Google. I know Yahoo has a tool called Site Explorer but it doesnt give you8 the top queries used to get to my site. Google gives you that information for your own site, but I was wondering how to get the top Yahoo queries. I think Ill do some google searches and see what I find out |

I've successfully added Google Analytics to a number of sites, no reason you could not add it to a Yahoo! site. What did you use for the Yahoo siate? Sitebuilder? Yor own tool? |

Coolness. Does anyone know if Yahoo offers website statistics like Google does? That Google WebmasterTools is the bomb! It shows you your top queries and a bunch of other stuff. That's the main thing I check for though, is which queries are driving people to my site. I have a program called AWStats that tells me which links people use to get to my site as well. |

You remind me of my friend, Jay Thompson, who has a similar aptitude, but applies it to his real business as a realtor. He and I have gone back and forth about how most people just want it to work and not have to manage the nuts, bolts & bearings. I am pretty much an in-betweener - have a degree in programming (understand the tech), left that world to work in marketing & business development (understand business), and social media (connecting the two). I always admire the people who work closer to the metal of the machine as it were... |

Ohhh ok I see. Ning is a social website...ok. I am more of a nuts and bolts kind of guy. I can fix damn near anything thatll take a wrench be it computers, a car, home repair, or farm tractors (Love working on those lol) so I have my own Linux servers running at my home. I installed the OS, configured my servers www, smtp, pop, DNS, etc and registered my domain all on my own. Its a steep learning curve but it also teaches you a lot. Eventually I hope to sell SEO and web hosting, everything under one roof but right now I am still learning.

J Paul, I've used all kinds of tech in blogging and all the rest; at InTheLeftLane.com we use Ning, because it provides a broader platform for individual to get a free blogs, forums to interact and a capability for pics, videos and lots of other rich media. If you go back and look at my Real Estate blog, it was hosted on TypePad, which I like best for a quick, clean professional looking blog. That being said, we're looking at a WordPress blog soon. |

A lot of people recommended Drupal or Wordpress but I deceided to go with Joomla. I see your using something similar on your site. Which are you using? |

J Paul, Looks like you're based on a blog tool (WordPress?). Nicely done for a self maintained site. |
