I'm a online kinda guy; I happen to beleive that online is where the market is going and I am interested in how businesses use the web, in particular the Livery Trade and ground transportation industry.

I look at from the perspective that you ALWAYS want to measure the marketing investmetns you make so if you are going to invest in a website, you should be measuring everything you can about it. The question I get here is "..but how Steve?"

There are more than a few tools you can iunvest in to measure website activity. One is Google Analytics; it is a free service from Google that will measure the traffic on your site an about a dozen different ways.

My question to the forum is, regardless of the tool, "if you have a website, do you use analytics to track visitors, hits, referring pages, etc?"

If not why not?

I dont much like GA as it used to be much better. I use Statcounter like 10 times a day though. All I need to know is what keywords are hot and are converting.

We have been using G analitics before it even officially came out. And we love it. We also use regular site stats that come with hosting.

What is your website Fred? Are you looking at any other on-line tactics beyond SEO / SEM?

I saw that recently, adwords was merged with analytics. I havent used it yet but im sure there are some good features.
