I went to my local dealer and saw the New MKS. It is a pretty car but I dont see it replacing the TC. I asked the Ford Rep questions about replacing the TC and he seemed confused. When are we going to get a FRESH LINCOLN BODY for limos?

I got an e-mail from Doug Walczak @ Ford Motor Company.
He stated that there are no sheet metal changes due out for the TC for the model years of 2009-2010.

Sorry, I meant the next cars we buy. Keep the 2000, the next cars we purchase should be 2003 (or newer).

Well, I wouldnt do that. If you just started and your car is clean and good working condition, just swap the nose. I know a lot of operators that just swapped the nose for the 2003 nose for only about $1500 or less. New look and you still keep your old car. You cant go wrong with that.

I was thinking the same thing. We just started out and got a great deal on a CLEAN 2000 Lincoln 120". We will probably buy one or two more stretches at the beginning of next year. But there is a definite difference b/t a TC and a MKS.

I just dont want invest in a 2007-2008 Towncar Limo to have something new come out in 2010. That happen to me in 1998 when I had a very clean 1996 but most people wanted the new body style car. I know the MKS has an AWD option that would be better than the FWD limo but.....

And Chryslers are US EPA Certified which is going to be very important with all the NEW EMISSION LAWS kicking in. Especially here in New York where all black cars will have to be ECO friendly within next year or two. Yellow cabs are already there but they just passed some new law about black cars that have to meet a minimum MPG criteria.

The MKS is a front wheel drive car that will cost $ 40,000 with no options. Why would anyone consider this ?

I love my L cars as well , but Ford better be smart about any moves away from a dedicated livery vehicle.

Notice that the car is only a 6 cylinder. If the chrysler can pull it maybe lincoln may pull it as well.

I dont believe you will get a fresh body towncar. They will just replace it is that MKS or maybe some hybrid.
