If doing interstate transport (NY origination & termination) & you're DOT registered/compliant, no problems as this is what the RIDE Act covers. If you want to work intrastate in RI, suggest that you investigate what Dean provided & get licensed to provide intrastate transport in RI.

Looks like the lookup on the UCR site is not even operational. I would say if you are in the SAFER system you are OK as long as you have a check mark next to carrier operation: "interstate"
Dont know about fees, sorry |

Yea do not think I have ever seen a RI carrier here. If your really curious you can call a few, here's a list:
RI Carriers A long as you are registered with the UCR you will be good to go. I think just having a DOT # does not mean you are registered with the UCR, I believe. You look yourself up? |

Yeah, I have the FMSCA DOT number but I wonder what Rhode Island operators have to say about operating there. Looks like we have no Rhode Island operators on this forum.

Seems Like regestration in the Unified Carrier Registration Agreement (UCR) is all you would need. You already registered there?
Unified Carrier Registration Center Check your status here: FMCSA Safety and Fitness Electronic Records (SAFER) System Look under "Company Snapshot" |

Google the Rhode Island Public Utilities Commission. Go to Motor Carriers.
