I was wondering if I need any special licenses to drive a 120" Lincoln Towncar stretch for personal use. Do I need a special driver's license, TCP, etc?

Also, I am under the age of 18 and so can I drive other people in the limo?

I am in California.

Most states won't even consider you for insurance for a limo... even personal use until your 21. May be wrong, so do your own checking in your state.

What I can't understand is you've asked about private limousines for two years and you've asked about hiring reservationists and dispatchers? How are you private? and why ask the same question 18 times and get the same answer?

No elegant you do not need any special licience or any operating authority to drive it for personal use. However you may run into some problems with your insurance company as one your limo will most likely already be regestered in CA as a taxi or commercal vehicle so that may throw up some red flags with them.. Then also the passenger capasity will be an issue if you want to have any more coverage that the minimum liability coverage required by the state. Once you get into collision coverage and medical coverage for passengers the rates will go through the roof if they will even consider covering it at all.

Best to check with your insurance guy beifre making the purchase.

And yea looks like no friends till your 18

Wouldn't the thing to do be to check with DMV? You've asked pretty much the same question over the past two years and it was old when it started.

I don't mean to sound mean about this but here's the truth... Check with your insurance company first, many companies will not even insure a limo for personal use, they automatically assume that you will end-up using it for business. Commercial insurance for someone your age wouldn't be worth even checking on, no matter how much money you have you probably couldn't afford it.
