here is my current website:
www.BeniLimos.com I am planning to update it this month, specifically I want to add videos to the stretch sections, as well as use my own images for the Escalade (I launched the site before the car was completed). Any feedback would be great! Thank you Skerdian 19 year old limo operator/college student. "Effort only fully releases its reward after a person refuses to quit"- Napoleon Hill |

I have offered to help a couple of guys on here, whose sites will get nowhere with present standings, i can understand that they don't know me from Adam but im a genuine guy who just happens to know a bit about seo and how it works and who will help out others!! I see Alimo is a regular, i am sure he will vouch that i help a few people with their respective seo and sites back here in the UK ..... FOC, because im too soft
I joined here, because : 1. makes a refreshing change from our sites. 2. you have similar issues and 3. To get some ideas from you guys, the day you stop learning is the time to pack it all in. |

Squires, I think you're on it Amigo... SEO is MUCH more than keywords. Links matter, content matters, metatags matter, robot.txt matters, blogs matter... it is more than the average Limo guy might, can or SHOULD have to contend with. You would not expect an SEO guy to drive your limo nor should a limo company expect to do what SEO guy can do. Just to get an inkling of what IS involved (if you do not know) sit in on Terry Mickelsons 'Coffee With Page Views' webinar. It is free, held twice a week and he is VERY smart on this stuff and he knows how to get you found local. Are there others like Terry? Sure, but I go out on a limb and actually recommend him because after almost 20 years in technology, I know he acts with integrity and get the work done right. |

Kinda think you guys are frightened of good SEO ... think you are missing the trick, its not just keywords and its not just meta tags that make a good ranking on the major search engines, im not after any business and i am a Limo Op first and foremost.

I will preach SEO until I am blue in the face.
Hire an SEO to do the work for you. Having a descent site is one thing but people will not understand that having a website is only the beginning. If you want the site to work for you, which im sure you do than have a service optimize your site onpage and start building backlinks. This will take months to see the effects of the quality of optimization done but I assure you it will pay off for you in ROI. i tried for a year or so to do this myself but very complicated and time consuming. If need be I can recommend a reasonably priced SEO for you. Goodluck and may your links be with you. Dan |

Not sure how you guys operate in the states but, 90% of our work is secured through web sites and having a good ranking is the key here in the UK, i even get a few requests for Quotes from the states, had one today. (san jacinto, southern california i believe) I think your site looks fantastic, but who is going to see it unless you show it to them ... I would be more than happy to send you over some tags which you could place within your web site, that would enhance your standing on google, msn, yahoo etc search engines ... would just need to know where you target for Limo hire , ie NYC and its suburbs... To me, the search potential is more important than the asthetics , if you can combine the two it will generate a lot more business... I guess you would need to pass on to your web developer, unless you do them yourself that is? Its normally the more creative web designers who have not got a clue about SEO.. You have nothing to lose only to gain, your site would not look any different, only there would be more meat to the bones on the inside, i would even submit for you to the search engines afterwards.... Offers there, if you want it. Kind Regards : Steve |

Skerdian, As a business person in an ages were the average consumer now goes to the web 1st for research on almost ANY topic, you really do want to get a grip on thise SEO issue sooner than later. The very best guy I know on this topic is PageView / Terry Mickelson. All White-hat tactics (do it the right way) vs. trying to fool / fake-out the search engines. He does a 30 minute free 'Coffee With Page Views' webinar twice a week - encourage everyone to attend. He'll send you a $5 Starbucks Card for sitting in. |

Squires,
I dont even think I rank on Google unless you do a straight company name search. I use the website mostly to show clients the fleet online, I really dont pull much business through the internet itself. Ofcourse, I would want to but I have little to no idea about this who SEO thing. Skerdian 19 year old limo operator/college student. Think it looks real nice Skerdian!
The only video I have seen that has added any value to a website can be seen here: John Peters Limo And this is more like a commercial for the company not the limos. If your shooting for that standard I say go for it. Otherwise I think Just high quality stills are much better at conveying an elegant message. A shakey video going around a car and all around the interior does not say class to me. What would be cool to see is a video introducing all the employees of your company like a meet the gang sort of thing: "This is Jan in accounting" Jan: Send me chocolate and I will get your checks out faster! "This is Don our head chauffeur" I know where every restaurant is in this city come test me! I dare ya! "This is Chris our reservationist" Call me and lets talk about your big event! I am already excited! Make it a little pesonal and build a relationship with your potential customers. Little hokey but sometimes hokey sells. Just make it professional hokey. |

I guess the music was not such a good idea, I will probably remove it. Do you other operators put up videos of your cars?

The music is not a good idea for corporate clients.
You don't want to scare an executives assistant with the music playing loudly on her computer at work. |

Crisp look. Are those your cars? Nice photos. Never been a fan of music on a site, but I surf sometimes from home late at night and do not want to wake the house; come to think of it, if I were searching at work (which a lot of people do) I would not want music to start up either. Aside from the appearance though, there are now two reasons to have a web presence - both revolve around marketing. The first objective is more substantial, you want to the phone to ring & have reservations made. The second is around social media; social media is what we're exploring at In The Left Lane. We run two different sites to address the two reasons - SilentDispatch.com for interest in our products and In The Left Lane for the community and industry commentary - two different agendas = two diff sites. Whatever your goal, always monitor / measure traffice & results - we just opened In The Left Laneabout a week or so ago and from the free web metrics I added to the site I can tell you that as of today, there have 224 visits from 161 visitors, 563 page views and visitors looked at an average of 2.51 pages. Those visitors came from all over the globe too - US, Canada, Australia, UK, Ireland, etc. What does that mean to us? Nothing yet, other than we have seen the use of social media tools and tactics take a brand / website and help it rank VERY well in the search engines and the companies did not pay a dime in SEO or SEM (Search Engine Optimization / Search Engine Marketing) - but they do show up 1st or 2nd in the search engines. We do not yet know how social media will work for the livery trade - but I have ideas about how it will help accomplish our goals. |
