I just answered my phone and almost hung up when I heard the recorded message then I decided to listen when I heard from the National Limousine Association. The recorded message says " Hello this is Fran Shane executive director of the National Limousine Association and I am "personally" calling to invite you to the LCT Leadership seminar" How bout that for a "personal" call.

How do I keep getting sucked into commenting on these Deep Thinkers? What most people don't understand is that these NLA people really do think they are doing God's work and that any criticism is totally unjustified and is fomented by only a few, such as those of us on this forum. They are truly incapable of standing back and looking at their miserable membership ratio and the actual criticism, let alone reaching the obvious conclusion that if NLA were a business it has failed and is propped up only by some commercial sponsors and a few companies that benefit from ballyhooing their participation in NLA. So long as the staff keeps getting paychecks, and the handful of people who use NLA for their own purposes can continue to do so, they have this whacky notion that they are accomplishing something. Start with these thoughts, accept them, and you will have a pretty much full understanding of NLA. If you are missing something, then entertain this one additional thought: if NLA didn't exist, Bobit Publishing would have to invent it as a figleaf for the Las Vegas show. |

I guesss thats an example of "Negative Marketization" -- when your marketing efforts actually produce negative effects instead of the intended, positive ones.
