I DRIVE FOR A LIMOUSINE COMPANY IN NJ. I HAVE MY OWN E-Z PASS BECAUSE THE OWNER DOES'NT WANT TO PAY FOR IT HIMSELF. NOW HE WANTS ALL THE DRIVERS TO GIVE HIM THE ACCOUNT NUMBER AND PIN# SO HE CAN HAVE ACCESS TO THE ACCOUNT. IS THIS LEGAL,? ALSO, IF YOU DON'T GIVE THE INFORMATION TO HIM YOUR FIRED. ALSO, HE WANTS TO MAKE SURE YOU SLEEP WITH THE NEXTEL RADIO.OTHERWISE HE FINES YOU $25.00 A POP.THEN IF YOUR CC SLIP IS DECLINE HE FINES YOU PLUS HE MAKES YOU PAY FOR IT. Is THIS ALL LEGAL? OR WHAT? NEED ANSWERS......

I hope he is paying you by the hour because there is no way in hell that you are considered a sub-contracter. One word of advice. QUIT!!

Is this guy for real? You should tell him you looked in to labor laws and they indicated that if you are on call and must have the cell phone with you at all times then he needs to pay you your hourly wage or at least minimum wage thats the law in most states, however if you are in a salaried position and exempt from overtime then this would not apply. As far as your other concerns go it would seem to me these are your e-z passes and they should be non transferable just contact your local association and find out more info. As far as credit cards go just to protect yourself you should call in the credit card to him at 3:00 am and tell him to get off his a*s otherwise ask him for portable terminals or the phone number to the credit card companies and the account number so you can call these in 24 hours a day and get an authorization however standard business practice would be to pre run the day before, sometimes this is not possible so as standard practice always cover yourself so nothing can happen to you. Cross your T's and dot your I's. And no this is not legal you are an employee right??? the worst thing he could do is fire you but has no right to fine you or hold you accountable for his ignorance in not knowing human resource laws. These are the kind of owners that give us a bad name. I hope this will help you and good luck with what ever you do. We are hiring in Oregon.

My My you must work the the biggest crook in your area-- get a new job. But not before the owner learns a few lessons on respect and loyalty. First if he paid for the passes then deserves the numbers. ONLY IF HE PAID FOR THEM!!! Second Maybe he needs a visit by the DOT to learn the law of Proper rest and safety. Why would anyone want to work for this fool?? If the company takes the credit card and you do the imprint as you are required and verify the signature then you let the company worry about it, because you are an agent of them--COMPANY problem, as an owner I face it every day but I treat my people that work with me with the most respect--I MAKE SURE that if they took money out of there pocket for a run they get it back, immediately not "when the client pays" boy is that a line of crap. Bottom Line Eddie I am sure there is a revolving door for employees at that company.
