I have been watching this company for the last several years. The "system" in theory seem's to be economically logical/rational. Could replace car's and municipal commuter buses on the road overnight. Just wanted some input on what you guy's think about it. Thank's!!

Thank's for the reponse's Wink
Like I said earlier, I have been watching this company very closely over the year's. How about unlimited miles to the gallon? Sound's way out there, I know, but...haha yeah, here's the hiliraious part....no, seriously, here's how it could work (pro's con's in a reply would be great!!):: Take a look at the current system they have in the link provided above, notice the "rail" in which the "car" ride's on. If these were lined on top, sides, rail support post's upper half (lower half would get stolen..lol) with flexible sun solar-cell's (yes, a new company in Ohio is making solar cell's that are flexible, bend, and can produce same power rating's current standard solar cell's use.). Now how does it work: The solar cell's would be designed to give enough power for a specific equal length of track section, Each section of rail would power it's section independently and only use power when a "car" is aproaching that section via computer or sensor. Any energy that is not used in a rail section will be stored under rail to a lithium battery for use at night, if even more energy is produced, the remainder can be sold to a local utility grid (more $$).

Example: Take the rail the "car" ride's on, take the rail and divide the length into equal sections, each section produce's independent power for only that section via solar cell's during the day or lithium batt. at night, only when a "car" is approaching a sensor in rail.

The "cars" are small enough to be wrapped in advertising at a cost more business could afford for more exposure, huge return's from advertising going to city/private company. Yes, in the begining the cost of the technology (flex. solar cell's, custom lith. batt.) would take a while to pay off, but as time goes on, the price will lower, profit's will increase, etc..
Also, our transit system recieves up to 80% reimbursement from fed's to convert bus' that will use new fuel tech. (if you want to convert your towncar or hummer stretch to use propane, you can get 80% return towards upgrade, there's a page on this site that explain's and a seperate page with pic's of towncar and a stretched h2 converted: www.fuelforearth.com.
Steve, I'm sure Phx. is doing better than our C.T.A. (Chicago Trasit Authority) is doing. The C.T.A. made national news a few month's ago threating the fed's that if more money wasn't HANDED to them, they would cut route's. Which made the rider's of those proposed route cuts scream to city hall official's when C.T.A. posted sign's at each bus stop on route's to be cut giving rider's a date when the route would be cut unless fed's GIVE them money. Well needless to say, the C.T.A. (who hasn't made a penny profit in year's) recieved on their threat by fed's giving in, but only in last few week's of the "deadline" date the C.T.A. set. It was a game they used on both: the rider's fear's and the tax payer's NATIONWIDE all pitched in to fund this stunt. The buses are falling apart, forget air conditioning on a hot summer day, they use huge buses at times of the day when smaller buses could be used, upper management gave themselves raises right before this stunt, and the list goes on, our system is long over-due for an overhaul.

Awesome idea, but I am not sure the $$ per passenger will produce a return that will get local governments to install the system - I do not see any other way to get this type of system built.

Funding for public transit in these times is a challange I think - Phoenix is only now getting a light rail system that was funded when we had an overage, now we're looking at deficit spending to complete it and the freeways here suck.

As a culture, we seem to have a real challange in gettign people out of their private cars.
