General Pace, USMC, recently retired leaving his last post as Chairman of the Joint Chiefs.
On his last day his final act was to write a note to the 3 Marines he lost as a Platoon Commander in Vietnam & place these notes with his stars attached at the Vietnam Memorial. The notes simply states that the stars belong to them (his Marines).  |
