Well our beloved Governor Jennifer has decided to stick it to the Limo industry and many others in Michigan by proposing a 2% sales tax on all services. I guess it could be worse, the general sales tax is 6% on everything else. Keep it up Jennifer and when there is no one left in Michigan to pay the Taxes how will you support all of thoes who will have to live off the the state dool. The Fed. does't allow you to print Money like they do.

We do get $0.19 per gallon fuel tax refund here in Michigan but it would not suprise me to see that go away soon. They tried it once before by slipping it in to a bill but our friend in Lansing tipped us off and we (meaning the GLLA) stopped that effort dead in it's tracks.

I think the question that should be explore is why should the limousine industry be exempt from a sales tax?

The sales tax is being applied in many states now. In ohio it's 6.75%. It is coming to a state near you or that you are in.

Finally all the michigan companies that run in ohio and do not collect sales tax becuse they have no ohio vendors license or operating authority will get a piece of what the deserve.

Of course those that choose to operate outside the legal line will still do so and always find ways to cheat and steal from the general public.

Funny, Most states CAN'T Tax on "services" only tangable products or goods. Wonder how long that sales tax will live...and where does that $ go to??? The Governors Fund?

Does that mean all companies will have to report quarterly?

Can't wait til the govenor is in a limo with friends. She'll be surprised when they add $ to the tip to cover the tax!

What's next David?? I believe there should be a fuel use excise tax relief for those limos then!!

What a bunch of political BS!
