Ok - Ive have ZERO leads in two full days at limos.com in the Los Angeles market. This can't be correct - can it? How many leads do Los Angeles operators average per day?

Wolfe - Has your lead volume improved since this post?

YES! I have been getting leads since I posted. I also DONT have airport service selected since I am not legal to operate at the airports yet. I am sure my leads will really increase once I have that service.

Excellent - when you say 'high-end' can you tell us more about the type of magazine? What the distribution is like? The demographics?

Online networking, local business associations, as many lead groups as you can get into, unique programs (Limo property tours, bar tours, sightseeing turs, etc.) that you let EVERYone know about in hotels, concierges, realtor associations, bars, resorts... you get the idea.

Do not do it helter skelter though. Do it with a plan of connecting to the people you WANT to work with. Connect to FaceBook, MySpace, LinkedIn and maybe even Twitter.

What's going to work? I dunno, how good are you at using these tactics and tools? Any visibility is good Wolfe... you already have a blog, now think about content that speaks to your audience, not your peers.

No - I am out pounding the pavement too - but I would at least like to see SOME leads. I actually got two leads since I posted this. My advertising is limos.com, google, yahoo, handing out cards to bridal shops, florists, tuxedo shops and emailing industrial center businesses. Not sure what else I can do. I am hesitant to spend any money on a phone book.

its way to late to even consider a phone book for this years business.
As for Limo's.com for every dollar I spend in leads and on their programs I get a many fold returns in bookings. They have been better than I could have imagined 3 years ago.

I average $350 a month in leads give or take sometimes less and I book over 10,000 a Month in business just through their site! Not counting my Google and Yahoo stuff Phone book and other media outlets.

If you work the Ad's and quotes, they will pay off handsomely in my Opinion as long as your rates are not part of the issue. there is no excuse what so ever during Proms season to not be booked up in my Opinion anyway.

My weekends have been booked solid for the next three months and I have been that way for a month.

Most operators are full or filling up quickly anyway. If I had 20 more limos I could make a Killing. But its that way every prom season.

You are coming in right in the middle of prom season, and if your market is anything like mine, the kids are starting to panic as everyone gets booked.

All the megga-limos are chartered and those that couldn't find, or afford one of those, are now falling back on the workhorse Lincolns. You should be able to grab a few good prom gigs before the season wraps up.

Nice pic of you and the car on your blog, by the way. Black Lincolns are and always will be my favorite.

Anyway, you should be able to book some nice trips in the next couple of weeks. Impress those kids and their parents, and mom and dad may well call you for their next airport trip or point to point job.

Good luck!

PS: I wonder why I never get called to play the chauffeur for any acting jobs..... Confused

Thanks for the info! I have gotten a few prom leads today. You may not play the chauffeur - but I GUARANTEE that you would book more roles than me with that goatee - bad guy, biker, bodyguard, prisoner - theres lots of roles for your look! I could see you on The Sheild.

Look at the bright side... you saved $2!!
Limos.com is great site, but the cut throat always gets the client especially with the failing economy and in your case, a high population area.

ThumbsUp
