Very Funny and stupid!
Dont you just hate how dumb these kids are. It gets to the point where you ask yourself: Are these kids really graduating high school?? Look at some of the unbelievable and FUNNY questions and commments they make. If you have similar experience with similar stupid questions please post it here so we all can laugh. Question: How Old does the adult have to be? 18 or 20?? My thought: What adult is 18 yrs old?? Duhhh. Comment: Im calling on the behalf of a limo (Escalade) My thought: On who's behalf?? These kids have no idea what they are saying. Question:What is the MAXIMUM number of hours you can book the limo for? My thought: Duhhhhhh Question: What does it mean that the car is booked?? I dont understand, what does it mean?? Can I book it. My thought: Duuhhhhhh Comment: Hi. Goodnight. I want a limo. My Thought: Goodnight? instead of good evening???? Duhhhh. Comment: Hi. Is this a limo company? Can you hold on.........(while she picks up another phone ringing in her house). Hi Lakesha, how are you? How was last night? etc....... WHILE Im on hold listening to her private conversation. My thought: My thought: Why are you calling? So that you can put me on hold and talk to your friend about what she did this weekend while Im on hold??? WTF? Comment:Hi, Im looking for a cheap, cheap car. How much is the Mercedes Benz? Porsche or Jaguar ? My thought:Duhh...I thought you wanted a cheap car?? wow.. Comment:For a prom package - How MUCH hours is that for? My thought:Proper grammar. You just graduated HS. Duhh Comment:Hi, our school is sponsoring a prom on 6/4. Can you explain everything? We dont understand anything about anything? My thought:What kind of question is that. Question:SO, how much is the Escalade. $3000. Why is it that price? What do you mean? Why do you charge that price? Why not $300. My thought:What kind of question is that Question:How much does the limo hold? My thought: HOW MUCH what...luggage ..people.... How much people??? wow My thought: - dont you have when they just write their notes and spell out as they are writing your info eg. BBaaalllllaannncccee ttoooo bbeee ppppaaaaiiiiddd beeeeffoooreeeee mmmmaaaayy.... And you just sit there waisting time listening them writing.... Some of these questions you probably experienced. Yeah, those are the tire kickers. I hear of these from time to time but they have no basis. If they cant read details - what can you do. I also hate when you are done with answering their questions they dont say Thank you or Goodbye - they just hang up. And then they call back because they forgot to ask a question and HAND UP again. If I only had a penny for each time. HMMM. |

Greenpala, you'll like this one. For all the companies that have ever advertised "1 free hour". A high school girl called me up and said she needed my limo for so and so date for a 1 hour transfer/cruise. She didn't even ask how much and sounded like a great client that had experience booking before and didn't care about price. I filled out the whole trip sheet with address, destination, phone numbers, yada yada. I ask her for a credit card and she informs me she doesn't need one becausae she hasd a coupon for a free hour. I start to get a headache as I file the trip sheet in the garbage. I explain to her how the coupon states "with minimum purchase of 3 hours. But she tells me she only needs it for 1 hour. So I tell her the limo is $150/hr+gratuity(20%) for 3 hours plus 1 free. She adamantly states she only needs it for 1 hour and makes funny noises like I'm too stupid to understand. So I give her a tranfer quote of $250+grat. and she yells at me like I'm a thief because I just quoted her at $150/hr. I try to explain how the more hours you buy, the lower the rate. She tells me she's going to have her Dad sue me for false advertising. I wish everyone would stop this free hour BS. PLEASE! Tough times don't last. Tough people do. |

I could totally hear this one play out. When I go through my riot act about zero tolerance with underage drinking, I tell them how I know all their tricks like smuggling in backpacks, water bottles, gatorades, etc... But some of them still try and get it past me even after I told them . It's hilarious and sad at the same time. The funniest thing about it is that I'm pretty laid back and don't search them unless they're being obvious. If they would sneak it in an intelligent way and try and act a little mature and hide their buzz, I wouldn't mess with them. But they're young and dumb and we end up having to teach them the hard way. This years prom was the first time(as far as I know) I had a bunch of kids rolling on ecstasy. I left them alone because they seemed to be fine and the only reason I found out was that I heard them through the divider. Someones gonna get on me for that, but the damage was already done and I wasn't gonna ruin there night. But for the record, I absolutely love prom season. I treat the kids good and they're usually very respectful and like Dean said, make you feel younger. Tough times don't last. Tough people do. |

Got a new one:
Caller: How much is Escalade for a prom for X date? Rep: That will be $3000 with the service charge. Caller: But your website says $2500 without service charge. Rep: Exactly its $3000 with the service charge. $2500 + 20% is $3000. Caller: But your website says $2500 without service charge. Rep: If you ad 20% service charge to $2500 comes out to $3000. Caller: Do you think Im stupid and dont know math???? My thought - wow.... it is amazing how easy math is to pass in HS. |

Looks to me like Daytona got the memo when starting out of how to make rules for his clients - and in his first year to boot! (Not to mention multiple layers of Florida licensing) |

When I do contract signings, I make it very clear that you cannot bring in, consume or store alcohol in the car. I kind of give them like a friend-to-friend advice talk that cops set up checkpoints all over during prom season and they check cars, and if alcohol is found, the night is over and the parents have to be called. Scares the kids enough to be cool and respectful about it. Luckily, I have yet to have an alcohol related incident.
Now, when the kids come back from the after party drunk...thats something else.. Skerdian 19 year old limo operator/college student. "Effort only fully releases its reward after a person refuses to quit"- Napoleon Hill |

I was following a hearse out to the National Cemetary with a limo full family of greiving family members. The axle on the hearse seperated about 3 miles from Calverton. We pulled over & I ran across the road & flagged down a hearse leaving the cemetary, he did a U-turn & we transfered the casket right on the highway. We used to work with a guy that sent a 14 passenger lincoln to a prom. In the middle of the prom, while he had car full of kids - his axle just broke and came off the car. That is horrible. They couldnt even tow the car because they couldnt grab it by the wheels. Another friend was doing an airport pickup and his half axle just came out with a wheel while driving 35mph. The C clip holding the half axle failed and the whole shaft came out with the wheel, hub, etc. That must have been a funny picture. |

I had a group threaten one of my chauffeurs once when he told them to put the funny cigarettes and peruvian matching powder away now ! So he put the partition up and called a friend of his at the Police station on his cell phone. They couldn't hear him make the call because of the loud music. The police gave the promsters a most warm welcome and he was done for the evening and paid in full. Part of entering adult life is understanding loud and clear that there are consequences to illegal behavior.
[QUOTEOriginally posted by LimoNewbie: Yep, good proms, bad proms, always enjoy the good ones! I make sure to place any bigger bags in the trunk, no access to them for the kids, as well as spot check the small purses before the kids get in. Have found a few in the purses, the smaller bottles of alcohol in them, always had parents remove it. I had this one time when the clients daughter was carrying her boyfriend's tuxedo jacket to the limo, didn't think anything of it until I heard the bottles clanking as she was getting in the limo to set it down. She got back out to take pictures, so I walked around to the other side, opened the door and asked one of the parents to remove the alcohol. The parents actually got frustrated with me!?! They said they wanted their kids to have a good time, what's the harm? I referred them back to our contract, told them they are still going to have the best night of their life, come on, it's prom, and I want to make sure they are safe. I did have to end the night early, actually 1 hour into the night, somehow they had still managed to slip more alcohol in. What a waste, the parents were extremely upset, the owner was even more upset with the clients (there's another part to this story), and needless to say, the partition was up on the ride home, as soon as I informed them I was taking them home, they went berserk! They started threatening me, etc. It's such a shame, I was actually looking forward to a great night out![/QUOTE] Dean Schuler |

Amen Dean. My best prom was for a group of kids who's limo had "a transmission failure" a couple of hours before the pickup. I had 10 minutes to get dressed and a 90 mile drive to my pickup (we just happened to have a vehicle available that night). I was able to save the day, and they were only about 10 minutes late to the prom. The kids were the most respectful group I have ever had, the mother who arranged everything was soooo happy, and she has booked me twice since. Jim Martin Night Out Limousine Hollister, CA |

My enduring positive prom memory is that when the teens were good it was a pleasant evening and I went home feeling younger.

And the parents are consistent in being totally clueless-they always say my kids don't drink. In New Orleans, if you can reach the bar, you can get served in the French Quarter. Sometimes the teens have the liquor stashed at the restaurant where they are having dinner. They are quite clever at the GAME of double-talk with adults.

Dont you love when they try to put VODKA into a Poland Spring bottle of water. Or pour ALIZE into a juice bottle saying its cranberry juice. LOL.
Last year Budwiser came out with this molt drink that looked like a nail polish. That was a tough one to find. But now days, they take a pocket size bottle of Hennesy and put it into the jacket. They know that we have no right to frisk them so its tough to catch those drinking. |

I make it VERY clear before pick-up, during pick-up and any other time that alcohol will kill the evening in our limousine, we will NOT stand for it, will call the police and the parents and eject the entire party from the limo. I always get the sympathetic look on my face and say "please don't make me do this, I really don't want to spoil your evening but I will if alcohol is discovered". This has worked every time so far.
Last year when loading the kids with all parents watching I stopped two kids before they entered the limo, checked the bottle in their hands and verified that it said "NON-ALCOHOLIC" on them and that they were still properly sealed before they got in (yes, they will try to replace the non with the real stuff in-hopes that you don't look too close). Half of the parents were glad to see me check, others ran up to assure me that it was fine, I told them that I HAD to check them no matter what. Hopefully this info helps you guys this season. |

We heard of a situation where the girl got waisted at the party. When the parent saw her in the condition she was in when she got home, she blamed the driver. She said that the driver got her drunk. All the other kids agreed and tried to blame the driver (they were pissed at him because he didnt let them smoke). And of course parent started having problems with the driver. These kids will use any means of destroying you if they get pissed of at you. |
