The Stretched "smart fortwo"...

http://news.google.com/news/url?sa=T&ct=us/0-0&fd=R&url...BkeRc0n86YroKNLKYIYA

I'l probably get flamed here and everyone else I know thinks I'm crazy, but I placed my order for a new one last year. It's supposed to be delivered between July and September this year. Currently a 12 to 16 month wait for new buyers.

On another note, here is another "smart" idea:

Lol, I love that pic of the shoes.

Maybe you could put a stripper pole in it and get some midget strippers to dance and serve little airplane shots.

Perfect for a guy like Digger (No offense Dig!), but will they fit a vertically challanged guy like me of 6'5"????? Headroom in a lincoln stretch was tough enough.

I'll have to find one and try it. I've already found out this big boy won't be driving a Viper anytime soon?! Eek

I was thinking just the same (that's why I ordered a Tuxedo - White and Black), but my wife thinks they're ugly.

I've seen many of them done with graphic 'wraps' to take advantage of the attention they always get.

I just went to our local car show here in Dallas and they had 4 of them on display with the crash ratings as well as info on them. I think they were the biggest hit with constant people around them and sitting in them.

I'm seriously contemplating buying one, possibly even using it as a marketing tool for our company! Who knows!

Actually, the crash results are suprising for a vehicle of it's size. Several safety features are designed into the vehicle. If 'everyone' drove one you would all have a decent chance, but still, no match for some huge SUV being driven by some cell-phone toting, inattentive moron.

I'll stick with my 'driving a helmet' analogy and hope for the best.

I hope all the civilians buy them so when they want to socialize they hire us seeya That is the positive I see emerging from all this fuel economy hype. As for me, I want as much sheet metal and mass as possible surrounding me as I drive the roads surrounded by drivers who got their license out of a Cracker Jacks box. We cannot go 5 miles without being on roads with 70 mile per hour speed limits. I can only imagine being in a high speed collision with that little tin can. There is one of those little cars in our area. It does get a lot of attention for its novelty.

Nice pick. I like those new smarts. Looks like the centerpiece of a good "green" advertising campaign.

Mine will almost fit in the bed of my F350 with an aftermarket 9-1/2' bed.

Ha.

I don't know why you'd get flamed (but can totally see it happening). I say good for you and congrats!
