Brews in the Village 2007
It's all over for another year. Just thought I would show some random photos on how the event turned out. |

I will see you on the 11th Dave. I am bringing a group of other Bakersfield based operators. Should be interesting. The three major competitor limo operators of Bakersfield in a single vehicle for 4 hours. Hmmm.

I thought I would bump this old thread back up. I am two days away my friends! Brews in the Village 2007 is here Saturday. Of the 4500 tickets we had for sale only 482 remained unsold yesterday. We have been plagued with problems this year. Someone stole 2500 tickets out of the car of a volunteer forcing a complete recall of tickets sold, a new design etc. That set us back about $1200 for the new design and reprint. I then found our "sea-train" was broken into and about 40 tiki torches were stolen. This week the stolen tickets hit the streets selling for $20 each as "pre-sale price" instead of the $55 price clearly marked on them.
The show will go on, this Saturday at 6:00pm. We have five stages, 17 bands, over 100 brands of beer, over 50 different wines, 32 restaurants and a host of roving entertainment. We even added Karaoke this year. Counting volunteer workers, restaurant workers, comp tickets and paid tickets we should have about 6,000 people on hand. I have been a little busy lately and not posting much so I thought I would explain my lack of attention to the forum. Wish me luck............ I am hoping to net about $200,000 in a single night that will all be donated to organizations that make a better life for children. NOt one dime will be spent on any administrative cost. |

Wow Dean. Better memory than mine. I forgot that the "night" ended at 5:00am......and even later for your brother. Yes, Wade, by the time we left my bar........we were truly the village idiots. But we were fun and we were safely driven by my rented chauffeur. Wait a minute. He wasn't rented. He is on my staff. I own him! We were safely driven by my people.
Gunny.........for one day......just one day......cut me some slack, give me a break, take a breather. I can't take these brutal beatings everyday of my life..... |

Dean watch your terminology. Luff has chauffeurs not drivers. Wade Randolph |

Luff's chauffeurs were top-notch personnel working long hours.

Thanks for the plug Deano! Yes, Wade! I personally witnessed a transformation from the beginning of the evening to the close of the event. I suppose Dean saw the same transformation in me though............
Hard to remember anything but the fact that is was FUN. Dean's brother Jim joined us as well. |
