ATA might have been discount but they did something right for a quite a while. Starting out as just a charter flight to seeing their ad on television seemed like every commercial break, what 5-10 years ago (how did that jingle go again?) Well, I feel bad for all those who lost their jobs-we'll keep you and your families in our prayers. Godspeed.

Aloha Airlines is also history.

So typical of a discount carrier. It’s happened too many times before: one day they’re here, a few hours later on the same day they're gone. Saving money is great and all, but peace of mind is priceless. That's why I usually stick with the majors, always use a credit card, and usually pay a little more for a fully refundable ticket.

I did a ton of business over the years with ATA. Sorry to see them in trouble.

Wow. I remember my unit flying with them when we deployed in and out of Bosnia. Just goes to show you dont put all your eggs in one basket. You might just have the basket ripped out of your hand.
