I still like leaving the decanters empty and wash them once in a while.

This topic has been discussed so many times. I will still say, let the clients bring thier own liquor. One less liabilty issue for us to deal with.

We put candy dishes and extra napkins in the decanter spaces, but I may try Jim30's idea about colorful beads in the decanters. The horror stories about bodily fluids found in "empty" decanters makes me leery about having them in the car, but they do look nice.

I fill it up with ice as it is almost always used as a garbage can if I don't!

In New York, you are not allowed to provide alcohol complimentary or not. People must bring their own. We provide mixers complimentary if requested and water and ice standard. I personally think it is ridiculous, and as Jim mentioned when we get people coming from the West Coast they can't believe it when we tell them we can't provide it. People are paying alot of money to use a luxury vehicle like ours and should be able to enjoy an alcoholic beverage as part of the service if the service so chooses to provide it. I can agree with the selling issue, but we should be able to provide complimentary if we want. That's politics and a whole different subject. Big Grin

Steve, we fill our decanters with those colored pebble thingies from the craft stores. Or if we take them out we usually put the chips/doritos/cheetos in the decanter holes.

If you don't provide in California you will find yourself being the odd-man out. It is EXPECTED. Those manufacturers built those liquor decanter holes and provided you with beautiful decanters for a purpose. But, you know us in Cali - sunshine, always in the 70's, palm trees, beaches, laid back attitudes and a zest to PARTY like rockstars.

In Ohio...........not so much. Bible belt.....probably not at all.

Guess it really comes down to your market but there is a demographic of customer that enjoys a stiff belt before they get on the plane or go home to the wife/husband. Having some quality stuff there for them to choose goes along way in the tip. I do:
Jack Daniels
Absoloute Vodka
Beefeater Gin

I have never lost a dime providing it to the right people

But for the 21'st birthday parties that barely scraped up enough for the limo they get half a decantur of the rot gut the company supplies. And the detailers take care of the aftermath! LOL

In Montana you cannot provide alcohol whether you charge for it or provide it "complementary". Even if you have a liquor license, you cannot serve alcohol away from your fixed base of operation. Some bar owners have tried it, but unlike the PSC, the Department of Revenue enforces their regulations aggressively.

Skeridian I spoke to the NYS Liquor Authority when I first started 5 years ago and you cannot provide alcohol complimentary or not in New York. The way they see it, even if you say it's complimentary, we still are not authorized to supply alcohol since we are receiving $$ for services.

That is what they told me, anyways. If you know different please do let me know.

Skerdian, In California you can give it away! but to sell it, you need to have a liquor License. I don't know of any limousine company that has one. Why would you need it. You just can't charge for Booze!

Georgi vodka. no beers. cheap whiskey. can't go wrong. Make sure you have the ice.

Hey Hartson, isnt such liquor licensing dependant on the state? In NY there is no requirement, but other states like NC you need to have a license just to have drinks in the actual car for passengers, complimentary or not.

No license required, but you can not charge for it! What ever you provide, you will have to give it away. To charge for alcohol, you would need a liquor license. That would be silly to do. By the way, buy the cheep stuff. If a passenger is using your service for the booze, you are doing something wrong! If the pasenger wants something by request, they can always bring their own!
