I am starting a new limo service in Portland Oregon. We are focusing on the larger vehicles. So most all of our cars and drivers will fall under federal laws for commercial drivers. We are wading through the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations book. It's a very heavy read. We are coming up with some questions. We are currently treating everything in this book as black and white. But it's running into reality.

An example. As an owner operator. If I have an 8 hour run that starts at 5pm. According to the book I can't show up to work until 3 or 4 pm. Otherwise I will put myself over the DOT regulated hours for a driver to be on duty. In this scenario I'm not sure how I'm supposed to run the business and be the driver from time to time. That's just one of the issues we are struggling with.

So we are looking for some professional advise. We are willing to pay for a consultant. Feel free to reply here, email us at limoservice@markeedragon.com or call us. 503.922.2713 x204 (Phone is for Dennis. Our operations manager who is working on all of the regulations.)

Thanks.
