How would I go about finding an existing small to mid-size limousine business (in MY area - Pinellas/Hillsborough FL)for sale?

I've worked in the industry as a chauffeur, and am currently in the process of setting up my own company. Looking to speed things up by purchasing assets/client list of small to mid-size company. I know that season is just getting under way here and no good deals to be had till summer slow down - but asking anyway.

I have helped a couple of fellow drivers get their businesses started (and permitted), but have little experience in the day to day workings from owner/manager side of equation.

Thanks,
Sapphire

I have come across this post while looking for a limo service that is for sale. The resources everyone has provided have turned out to be just what I was looking for. The Acquireo.com businesses for sale website that Sini suggested was especially helpful. (Thanks Sini!) I found a limo business for sale that was exactly what I was looking for. I recommend this site for businesses for sale. Thanks for your help everyone!

I would lose that picture of the Lincoln with the dodgy door, even though its a model.

Well, Aloha - I'm pretty confident in my marketing skills and definately have learned that networking is profitable for all involved (most of the time). Just want that added advantage of existng biz to go hand in hand with my start-up. Have been talking to a few about partnering.

Ivan? You wouldn't perhaps be the Aloha in Maryland (aroud Baltimore area)? If so - we've met.

Whatever you do, don't get caught up in any Contract for Deed type purchase. Ushually means big trouble!

Thanks for the info guys - doesn't really help...

I appreciate the offer David - but Michigan is not exactly in my area. Besides, I'm allergic to the cold NoPity I am looking for smoething in Tampa Bay area of Florida.

Lousheeny - the link is appreciated. Been there before and the few Limo companies listed for sale there are either on opposite side of the state or much farther south from where I am located. Have to remain here as Hubby's biz here and cannot afford to give it up.

I have contacted one company I found listed that was in my area - but after reviewing their books - was not even close to what asking, and too many exterior parameters involved. I keep checking back though.
