Dean,

I apologize for not replying sooner - I have not logged into this forum for some time.

A few quick answers to your questions:

Right now we have 33 members. Over 20 new members since January.

Our meetings, scheduled the first Tuesday of every month, have been extremely successful. As of today we are tackling four major issues:

A) Labor/Overtime rules applying to drivers

B) Government/Municipality regulation (several suburbs in the DFW area have suddenly decided to start charging/regulating their own permits)

C) Illegal operator enforcement - there are over 400 service providers in this market but lest than 25% are legal

D) Airport Regulations - DFW Airport is an entity in and of itself that is not regulated by the cities surrounding it. We are facing serious issues pertaining to permit procedures, unrealistic ULEV standards, high costs of doing business ($3.62 toll each time you enter the airport regardless of what for), lack of enforcement to illegals, over enforcement of LEGAL operators, etc..

These are the main issues on our agenda along with over a dozen other action items.

I am very, very proud of the way our members have come together and are working so closely to resolve these issues.
